The DCI has made progress in the incident where Senator Osotsi was badly attacked in Kisumu yesterday afternoon. With the help of the public, DCI officers have arrested three suspects, two youths and a 39-year-old man.
Suspect’s Names
The suspects in police custody are 24-year-old Carlos Owiti, 27-year-old Vincent Odhiambo, and 39-year-old Eric Otieno. The DCI is hoping to nab more suspects soon.
About Senator Osotsi
Senator Godfrey Osotsi is a specialist in Computer Science. He is a graduate of Egerton University, Kenya, and Sunderland University, UK. He was once the ANC Party’s Secretary-General.
Currently, he is serving his first term as the Senator for Vihiga County, and previously, he was a nominated Member of Parliament. After being removed from the deputy Chairmanship of ODM a couple of days ago, Osotsi announced his decision to run for the Vihiga Gubernatorial seat in the next election.
The current Governor for Vihiga County is Wilber Ottichilo, who is serving his second and final constitutional term.
Osotsi Progressing Well in Hospital
Meanwhile, Senator Osotsi is progressing well at Karen Hospital, Nairobi, where he was airlifted to yesterday after the attack.
Among the people who have visited him in the hospital are Senators Orengo and Sifuna, with whom he actively advances the aspirations of the renegade ODM faction, and Winnie Odinga, the lastborn daughter of the late ODM Party leader, Raila Odinga.
In an update to the public, Senator Sifuna, the recently ousted Secretary General of ODM, said that according to the doctors attending Osotsi, he is in stable condition, although badly hurt.
