Everyone, probably save for the royal family, was eager to see what the two had to say. One reason people were curious was that Harry had already stepped down from royalty, and so he could speak more freely than before.
Another reason was that he had made it clear he never wanted to abandon the life he and Prince William knew. Nevertheless, the circumstances he and Markle found themselves in made their continued stay as royals untenable.
Harry and Markle’s Documentary was a Big Success
The documentary, which was released in 2022 and aired on Netflix, was the most watched show on Netflix when it premiered in the UK. It told of Meghan’s short-lived stay at the Windsor Estate, the treatment she received from some royal insiders that she felt had a tinge of racism, and more.
This year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to be preparing another series, which is not as antagonistic as the first one.
According to the royal editor with the Sun, Matt Wilkinson, the upcoming documentary may not attract as great a viewership as the first one. The reason, Wilkinson explains, is that in the first documentary, the world was eager to hear the scoop about the royal family.
The upcoming Harry-Meghan documentary is said to be about polo, cooking, and gardening, which are more of personal hobbies than anything else. Wilkinson admits that Harry loves polo, enjoys playing it, and is good at it, but he avers that polo fans may not produce enough viewers to make the documentary a big hit.
Also, while not criticizing the couple’s efforts, Wilkinson points out that viewers may find the topics of the documentary somewhat drab. What Wilkinson did not outright mention was that Harry and Meghan must earn a living their own way, since they are no longer financed from the royal kitty.
Harry Plans to Meet His Family in May
For now, the eyes of the public, more so in the UK and the US, are trained on May 7th, 8th, and probably a few days immediately after. During this time, Harry is expected to travel to the UK and attend an Invictus church service at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
He is also expected to share a little time with his father, King Charles, and his brother’s family. William’s wife, Kate Middleton, was recently diagnosed with cancer, and Harry would like to show her and her husband his sincere support.
Harry does not wish to rehash the controversies highlighted in their “Harry & Meghan” documentary.
