
Pope Leo XIV, whose original name is Robert Francis Prevost, is set to visit Africa this April. Christians in the four African countries he plans to visit, and especially Catholics, are very excited about the visit.
Pope to Land on African soil on April 13th!
The pope is expected to land in Africa on April 13,th 2026, where he will visit Algeria, Cameroon, Angola, and Equatorial Guinea. The four countries feel honoured that Pope Leo has chosen to visit them in his first year as pope, having taken over the papacy on May 18th 2025. The Pope is set to end his African visit on April 23rd and return to Europe.
The Pope Visits Spain in June
Next, the Pope is set to visit Spain on a tour that runs from June 6th to June 12th. Over those days, he is expected to visit Barcelona, Madrid, and the Canary Islands.
Pope Leo’s Apostolic Visit Begins in Monaco
The pope will have started his apostolic visit in Monaco, the second-smallest country in the world. The smallness of Monaco is only second to the Vatican, its size being
merely two square kilometers. That Monaco visit is set for March 28th.
The Pope Hit the Ground Running
Last year, after taking over the mantle from Pope Francis, who passed away in April 2025, Pope Leo visited Turkey and Lebanon. He is the 267th pope and the First from the United States. His predecessor, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio, was the First from Latin America.
