Argentina has defeated Switzerland 3:1 in the Argentina vs Switzerland World Cup quarterfinal played last night. Hence, Argentina will play England in Wednesday’s semi-finals.

The Switzerland vs Argentina Scorers

Alexis Mac Allister of Argentina scored the first goal of the game in the 10th minute. Thereafter, both teams managed to keep the ball off their goal posts for the rest of the first half. Hence, Argentina remained in the lead as they took the halftime break.

However, in the 67th minute, Dan Ndoye scored for Switzerland, bringing the game to a draw.

Much as the Swiss enjoyed their equalization goal, bad luck was snooping. In the game’s 77th minute, they went down to 10 players. That was because Breel Embolo was found to have dived in an attempt to win a foul against Argentina.

Therefore, Switzerland competed with 10 players for the rest of the game. With neither team conceding another goal, the Argentina vs Switzerland game ended 1:1 by the end of regular time.

Consequently, the game had to proceed to extra time. Switzerland put up such a strong defense that Argentina had to be more creative. Effectively, Argentina’s Julián Álvarez attempted a long-range kick that materialized.

He scored a second goal for Argentina in the 112th minute of the game. Then, a little before the lapse of extra time, Lautaro Martínez scored Argentina’s third goal. That was in the 121st minute.
