Christine Akinyi has been found, safe and sound.
Christine Akinyi, whose disappearance at Jeddah Airport left her family worried, is safe and sound. Apparently, she got lost within the airport and went to the wrong terminal. Hence, she missed her connecting flight. Earlier, it had been reported that she deliberately chose not to board her flight.
That notwithstanding, it is a great relief to Kenyans, and more so to Akinyi’s family, to learn that nothing bad befell her. By the time her family raised the public alarm, they had not heard from Akinyi for more than a week. Akinyi was reportedly to arrive in Kenya on 19th April.
Nelson Mithamo of Voo TV, who was the first to break the news of Akinyi’s disappearance, has thanked the Kenyan Embassy staff in Jeddah for their help. He has also thanked the Department of Diaspora Affairs for the same.
