As of March 27th, 2026, China has restricted flights over its airspace. The government has hived off 73,000 square kilometers and closed it to the world. However, it has left a passage for civilian flights.

Is China trying to keep off US fighter Jets?

The airspace restriction China has imposed is meant to last 40 days, and no one but China knows the reason.

One might wonder if the closure is a way of keeping off US planes as the US war with Iran continues. However, some people think that China wants to conduct serious military exercises and even test parts of its long-range war arsenal. If this is the case, we should consider the timing.

Might China be Preparing for World War III (WWIII?)

There is also the possibility, according to analysts, that China can foresee another World War erupting any time soon.

The war that the US and Israel started in Iran on February 28th, 2026, does not seem to have a clear direction or goal. Moreover, it is difficult to predict what the invading forces are working towards, besides killing key Iranian leaders and destroying the country’s infrastructure.

It has also become apparent that no international body has what it takes to provide direction regarding the war. The fact that the US ignored NATO and proceeded to invade Iran unilaterally underlines this reality.

The World Arena is Currently Chaotic

The war between Russia and Ukraine is still on, and Israel is still attacking Lebanon and the Gaza Strip as Benjamin Netanyahu continues to fight Iran. Some of Netanyahu’s ministers are urging him on, suggesting that Israel should annex the southern part of Lebanon.

Recently, Israel’s Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, even suggested how much of Lebanon Israel should capture, stating that Lebanon’s Litani River should be the new border with Israel.

As Israel and the US launch missiles against Iran, Iran is busy launching its own against important assets in the Gulf countries allied to the US.

Meanwhile, Germany is preparing its citizenry psychologically for a new era of conscription. This is in line with the recent law requiring people intending to be away for more than 3 months to first seek permission from the Bundeswehr Career Center. This means the government can foresee a situation in which the military might soon need substantial support.

The US, too, has initiated automatic registration to the Selective Service System (SSS). This means the government does not have to wait for young men to enter their personal details into the federal database. Consequently, the government should be able to enlist any number of civilians on a moment’s notice.

Considering that this US law is a March 2026 development, analysts think it was introduced in light of the ongoing war and the lessons learned so far. For example, the US has learned that it does not have the European countries at its beck and call whenever it is involved in a war.

There is an embargo against Russia by the US and European countries, yet recently, as the Iran war continued, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent over 700,000 barrels of oil to Cuba.

The ships delivering the oil flew the Russian flag high, and passed through the English Channel where the Royal Navy could see them. Cuba itself faces sanctions from the US. Yet the entire mission went on without anyone raising a finger. At another time, a situation like that would have elicited condemnation from the US and Europe and possibly a military attack.

The world order seems to be irreparably broken, and countries want to test how much they can get away with. Meanwhile, “Big Brother”, the US, is hard-pressed to find a way of withdrawing from the Iran War without losing face.

In light of the ongoing situation, it is not far-fetched to think that China could be preparing for the possibility of a WWIII.
