Yesterday evening, a war drone hit a renowned hotel in Baghdad known as the Al-Rasheed Hotel. Another one targeting the US embassy missed it by a whisker.

In both cases, the targets appeared to be on point, and the damage was minimal only because of Iraq’s capacity to intercept the assets.

Drones and Missiles Target the UAE

It is not yet known exactly who struck Baghdad, but if it is not Iran, it must be one of the groups allied to the regime.

Meanwhile, reports from the UAE indicate that its forces are busy intercepting drones and missiles penetrating the country. These attacks even led to a temporary closure of UAE airspace.

Europeans Remain Observers

Last week, there was another attack on a US vessel on Iraq’s coastline, where one person died and 27 were lucky to escape. These and similar incidents in the region have put everyone around the Gulf on edge, even as Trump’s call for US allies to intervene seems not to resonate with them.

This is a war that the US President began exclusively with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and only the two know what the game plan was. It is also a war with no blessing from either Congress or NATO, raising the stakes for anyone who gets involved.
