Police in the UK have arrested Andrew, the son of the late Queen Elizabeth II, and the younger brother of King Charles III. Andrew now goes by the plain name of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, as opposed to his former title, Prince Andrew.
The loss of royal titles follows scandalous accusations in the US, associating Andrew with the sex trafficker and pedophile, Jeffrey Epstein.
In addition to keeping a close friendship with Epstein, Andrew, it was reported, engaged in sex with an underage girl, Virginia Giuffre.
Why have the Police Arrested former Prince Andrew?
It is said that Andrew’s arrest has to do with the recently released Epstein files in the US. Epstein files comprise an assembly of information, including photographs, emails, videos, and other materials, that reveal communications between Jeffrey Epstein and various individuals, many of whom are of high standing in society.
Why is Evidence of Association with Epstein so Significant?

Epstein, who died in a US jail in 2019 while awaiting trial, bought himself a private island among the Virgin Islands and held young girls there for the pleasure of rich men. Some of the men seen in photos taken at what is now commonly referred to as “Epstein Island” include US President Donald Trump and the late Queen’s son, Andrew.
Since it has been proven that some of the girls Epstein kept on the island for sex were underage, US courts declared him a pedophile. He also faced offenses of child sex trafficking. This followed witness accounts of how he had engaged in sex with vulnerable minors on and off the island, even as he used his victims to lure more minors with money.
Besides the infamous island, Epstein also used his homes in New York and New Mexico for his illicit behavior, and sometimes the London home of his assistant and accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell.
Queen Elizabeth Knew of the Accusations against Andrew
Before her death in September 2022, the Queen knew there was a sexual assault case in the US against his son. In fact, in early 2022, when a US court gave the green light for the case to proceed, his mother, in her capacity as Queen of England, had stripped him of his royal duties. She also ordered that he cease using his official title, His Royal Highness.
It has Taken Years for the Epstein’s Files to be released.
Victim testimonies, seized documents, and other evidence against Epstein accumulated from 2005 to date form the bulk of the Epstein files, and the US Justice Department continues to make them public gradually. However, some of them have been redacted.
At the moment, the public does not yet know whether new incriminating evidence has been found to warrant Andrew’s arrest. Andrew’s brother, who, on becoming King, caved to public pressure and stripped Andrew of his Prince title, is said to have quipped that everybody was subject to the law.
